Photography, a fascinating blend of art and science, has intrigued people since its inception. The Greater New Braunfels Arts Council (GNBAC) invites all High/Middle School students to participate in our annual "Youth Photo Contest." The contest is overseen by the Greater New Braunfels Photography Club (NBPS), a member of the GNBAC.
The NBPS was started in September 2011 by seven amateur and professional photographers who wanted to advance their knowledge of photography through fellowship and sharing information and skills. In 2020, the club became a Photographic Society of America (PSA) member.
Today, the GNBPC is open to all – admirers of photographic art and avid photographers, amateurs and professionals, students, teachers, the young, and the more mature. The NBPS supports members' efforts to improve their photographic skills with enjoyable monthly club meetings, competitions, programs, and fellowship.
One of the most successful services the GNBPC has conducted is running the GNBAC annual "Youth Photography Contest," open to high school and middle students from the greater New Braunfels area.
It's important to note that as of 2025 the contest will opened up to students state wide.
YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES, CONTESTS, AND EXHIBITIONS
Your contribution will enable us to support middle and high school students both in school and home school from Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe counties with youth photography classes, contests, and exhibitions. We are very grateful for your generosity.
