July Youth Photo Challenge

Theme: Summer Through Your Eyes

July 1–31, 2026
Open to Texas students ages 14–18
Free to enter — any camera, including a cellphone

How does summer look through your eyes?

The Texas Youth Photography Showcase invites young photographers to capture one image that tells a story about summer. Your photograph might explore light, color, movement, reflections, people, places, nature, or life in your community. The subject is up to you—show us what makes summer meaningful, interesting, or memorable from your point of view.

How to Participate

  1. Create one original photograph during July 2026.
  2. Give your photograph a title.
  3. Submit the image through the online entry form by 11:59 PM Central Time on July 31, 2026.
  4. Students under age 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.

Basic Entry Guidelines

  • Entrants must be ages 14–18 and enrolled in a Texas high school, homeschool, or equivalent educational program.
  • Each student may submit one photograph.
  • Photographs may be made with a DSLR, mirrorless camera, compact camera, or cellphone.
  • Basic adjustments such as cropping, exposure, contrast, and color correction are permitted.
  • AI-generated images, stock images, and elements created by another person are not permitted.
  • The photograph must be the student’s original work and must be appropriate for a general audience.
  • Submit the image as a JPEG file.
  • There is no entry fee, and no purchase is required.

This is a creative skill-building challenge rather than a judged competition. Selected photographs may be featured on the Texas Youth Photography Showcase webpage and social media with student and parent or guardian permission. Students retain ownership of their photographs. Questions may be sent to info@TXYPS.org.
